KGS Meijin Qualifier January 2012 (Winner: smallbird)

Announcing the KGS Meijin!

KGS is pleased to announce that starting in 2012, we will crown one player as the KGS Meijin every year. Every month, January through November, there will be a tournament on KGS. Sometimes it will be open signup, sometimes there will be restrictions. In each tournament, one or more people will qualify as Meijin contenders. In December there will be one final tournament, where all contenders compete, the winner is becoming the KGS Meijin!

You can enter as many qualifiers as you like. Each month the qualifiers will be at a different time and will have a different setup.

Important:

• If you miss a round, you'll be out of this qualifier.
• There are no handicaps. Players will be paired randomly.
• Once you became a contender, you are not allowed to join other Qualifiers. You can't use multiple accounts to enter a different Qualifier, either.
• People who violate the KGS Terms of Service may be disqualified anytime (before the tournament starts, during a game, during a round, or even once all the rounds are over).
• The Tournament Director for this qualifier is the Admin sweety.

Prizes

In this first qualifier, any undefeated players will be eligible for the Meijin tournament in December. The final KGS Meijin winner will receive a cash prize for a minimum of $500 and a special Meijin icon.
