May Iron Man Tournament, 30k to 5k Division (Winner: ox1)

Welcome to the Iron Man KGS Plus tournament! This tournament has no divisions based on time zone. Instead, there are four games, spaced 6 hours apart, every day for five days, for a total of 20 rounds! But if you don't want to stay awake and play go for a week straight, don't worry: each player is allowed to sit out for 15 of the 20 rounds. If you choose a bye (that is, if you choose to sit out), then you get ½ point, so sitting out is better than losing but not so good as winning. The winner will be decided by normal Swiss tournament rules.

There are two divisions: 5k and under, and 4k and up. Each division allows 50 non-KGS Plus members to sign up, so be sure to tell your non-KGS Plus friends about this!

To choose which rounds you sit out, just visit the tournament bye signup page after you have signed up. If you aren't on the server two minutes before a round starts, then you will get a bye as well, but if you are on the server and you haven't chosen a bye on the web page, then you will be put into a game and you must play it or take a loss! So it is best to select the rounds you will play as soon as possible. You can always go back and change them later if you want.

Good luck!

Sponsored by Kiseido Publishing and KGS Plus.

Swiss style, Simultaneous Schedule.

  1. The winner of each division will receive a $15 gift certificate from Kiseido.
  2. The 5 players with the most wins (no matter how many games they played!) will each get 1 month of free KGS Plus. There are only 5 of these prizes total for the tournament, not 5 per division.
  3. The 10 players who were in the most games will each get 1 week of KGS Plus. Again, 10 will be handed out over the whole tournament. Players who won prizes 1 or 2 will not be counted here.
