October Iron Man Tournament: Handicap Division (Winner: jmbac)

Welcome to the 14th KGS Iron Man tournament!

Swiss style, Simultaneous Schedule. Round every 6 hours, total 20 games for 5 days. Endurance is the key to doing well in Iron Man tournaments! The time settings are 45 minutes Main time plus 5 Byo yomi periods of 30 seconds (45m + 5 x 30s), the rounds are spaced 6 hours apart. 4 rounds per day, over 5 days. You can skip up to 15 rounds, so even if you can only play one round per day, you can still participate! You have to play a minimum of 5 rounds total to participate in this tournament.

Important: Conditions for tournament entry:

• The Handicap division is KGS+ members only.
• 100 non-KGS Plus members will be allowed into the Open Division. KGS Plus members are always welcome!
• Players who have been previously disqualified from a KGS tournament are not allowed.
• People who do not fullfill those conditions but register anyway may be disqualified anytime.
• Please be respectful to your opponents: late players may forfeit after 20 minutes -- rudeness or escaping won't be welcome either.
• You can ONLY play in ONE division. Please don't register for more than one division.

The Kyu Handicap Division:

• must enter with your strongest account.
• must have played more than 30 ranked games in 6 weeks before September 30. (having played the 30 games in the last week won't be accepted)
• Contact the user "sweety" if your KGS Plus account is not your strongest account.

To request a bye: Please go to the tournament web page, click on the link "you can request a bye here" on the top right. If you are on the server when a round starts, and you haven't requested a bye, then you must play in the round or take a loss.

Prizes

1. The winner of the Kyu Handi division will get a $36 gift certificate from Kiseido and one free month of KGS Plus.
2. The winner of the Open division will get one free Korean-style Insei League place for a month, and one free month of KGS Plus.
3. The runner-up of each division will get a $18 gift certificate from Kiseido, and 1 free month of KGS Plus.
4. 2 players with the most wins will each receive 1 free month of KGS Plus. The winners of the former prizes will not be counted here.
5. 4 players who were in the most games will each get two week of KGS Plus.
6. Each round, 1 week of free KGS Plus will be awarded at random.

If needed, the score, sos and sodos will be used as tiebreakers.
