October KGS+ Tournament, Asian/European Daytime Open division (Winner: zhang)
Welcome to the October KGS Plus tournament!
Swiss style, Simultaneous Schedule. This tournament uses the Swiss pairing system. The time settings are 35 minutes Main time plus 10 Byo yomi periods of 10 seconds (35m + 10s x 10), the rounds are spaced 90 min apart. Five rounds total, 3 rounds on the first day, 2 rounds on the second day. Prizes are given out every round, so even if you don't think you can win your division, you still have a chance at getting a prize!
Important: The Conditions for Tournament entry:
- 20 non-KGS Plus members will be allowed to join the Kyu Handicap divisions and 40 non-KGS Plus members to joing the Open divisions. KGS Plus members are always welcome!
- Players who have been previously disqualified from a KGS tournament are not allowed.
- People who do not fullfill those conditions but register anyway may be disqualified anytime. (before the tournament starts, during a game, during a round, or even after all the rounds are over).
- Please be respectful to your opponents: late players will forfeit after 15 minutes --
rudeness or escaping will not be tollerated either.
- You can only play in ONE division. Please don't register for more than one division.
The 2K and under Handicap Division:
- Must enter with your strongest account. (Contact the user "sweety" if your KGS Plus account is not your strongest account)
- Must have played more than 30 ranked games total, spaced throughout the 6 weeks before September 30th. (having played the 30 games in the last week won't be accepted)
To request a bye: Please go to the tournament web page, click on the link "you can request a bye here" on the top right. If you are on the server when a round starts, and you haven't requested a bye, then you must play in the round or get disqualified.

Prizes
- The winners of the Kyu divisions will get a $25 gift certificate each from Kiseido, and 1 month of free KGS Plus.
- The winner of the Asian/European daytime Open division will get a free Korean-style Insei League
place for a month, and 1 month of free KGS Plus.
- The winner of the American daytime Open division will get a $22 gift certificate from Kiseido, and 1 month of free KGS Plus.
- The runner-up of each Division will get 1 month of free KGS Plus.
- Any undefeated players who didn't win one of the above prizes will get 1 month of free KGS Plus and a silver crown.
- Each round, 1 week of free KGS Plus will be awarded at random.
